Manabe Sumihira

Mentor in swordsmithing and iron smelting to Pierre,
Manabe was one of the first to publish a web site dedicated to
Japanese swords in the mid-1990’s. His web site contains detailed
on the manufacturing of steels and swords.


Ford Hallam

Classically trained as a goldsmith in England before becoming
the visiting apprentice of Izumi Kochiro in the japanese tradition
of fine metalwork. Ford has focussed his efforts on the research
and rediscovery of japanese sword metal fittings, successfully
reproducing famous sword guards and creating his own art.

He works from scratch creating his own alloys and patinas.
